Caribbean Cruise - What To Expect From The Caribbean

Everyone knows that a Caribbean Cruise is the ultimate in holiday choices, but who really knows anything about the area, and about what one should expect when looking out from your cruise.

The Caribbean Island groups, numbering approximately 7,000, create a crescent that contains the Caribbean Sea, separating it from the Atlantic. Geologically speaking, where you will travel on a cruise is separate from the continents of both the Americas. The tectonic plate on which the area sits is active and moving; the islands act as a fairly good indicator of the edge of the plate and are, for the most part, the result of volcanic and seismic activity in the area. For this reason, you will find in the area a great deal of rough terrain, very harsh landscapes of hard impermeable rocks, creating breathtaking views as well as unparalleled hiking and climbing opportunities.

The Driving Top Ten

I recently drove from the South to the Midwest and back again. It has been quite a while since I’ve driven a long distance (about 1,000 miles each way) and it caused me to remember why I don’t like to take such trips anymore. We all have our own little idiosyncrasies for driving; for example, older people tend to move more slowly and cautiously than younger people who race pell-mell down the highway; and people tend to drive according to the customs of the geographical region they come from regardless where they currently are. Nonetheless, I have assembled a “Top 10″ list of the basic driving habits that really irritates me and, if corrected, would make driving a lot more bearable for all of us. There is nothing earth-shattering here, just some observations on common driving deficiencies:

Cruise is a relaxing word. You imagine deck chairs, ocean breezes - and no responsibilities. The word lets your thoughts drift at sea - unless you’re my husband.

John feels confined on ships, he feels confined in the tuxedo he’s expected to wear to formal dinners on board and he can’t be conned into feeling fine about it.

When in doubt - or you can’t get your way - compromise. We compromised by sailing on a small ship - eighty passengers, casual dress and one seating for meals with a set menu.

Flying With Your Baby - Tips To Make Your Trip Enjoyable

So, you are going to board an airplane with your baby. Before you go on a flight in the U.S., you have to find out the safety rules and regulations of the particular airline and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). These rules govern what you can and cannot do with your child in flight. Most domestic airlines follow the following guidelines:

  • Under 40 pounds or two years old, a child must either be carried in a paying passenger’s lap or they must be in an infant carrier like a car seat or some other convertible restraint. Also, they have to be situated in the window seat of a non-exit row. The child restraint system must have an FAA-approval label and it must be securely fastened in an airplane seat using the provided seatbelt.

Screened Tents Too Confining? Try Gazebo Screened Tents

The big deal about taking a camping trip is to get in touch with nature - to feel the wind in your hair, the grass on your feet, and be immersed in the all-natural sights and smells of the Great Outdoors. But it just isn’t easy to do this with an ordinary tent. It could be a bit stifling, keeping you safe from Mother Nature even as it holds her at a distance. If you would like to avoid this claustrophobic feeling, you may wish to try gazebo screened tents.

There is nothing better than a vacation spent on the beach with friends and family. Watching the children playing in the sand, teens playing beach side sports and parents getting the chance to relax and enjoy the sun is one of the crowning moments of any vacation. The chance to sit back and enjoy the weather can outdo even the most elaborate of vacations.

Most families, when attempting to get out of their home towns and enjoy the tropical temperatures and entertaining aspects of a far away beach choose to visit the Caribbean or the tropics. However, there are hundreds of beautiful and rarely thought of beaches around the world. Of those beautiful and entertaining beaches, some of the best are in the Mediterranean.
